About Nepalgunj Medical College
Nepalgunj Medical College is one of Nepal’s leading private medical institutions, established in 1996 with the vision of providing quality medical education and healthcare services to the Mid-Western and Far-Western regions of Nepal. The college is located in Kohalpur, Banke District, and operates under the management of Lord Buddha Educational Academy (LBEA). It is affiliated with Kathmandu University and follows the university’s medical curriculum.
The institution started its MBBS program in 1997 and later expanded to include Nursing programs in 2000 and postgraduate MD/MS courses in 2007. Over the years, Nepalgunj Medical College has built a strong reputation for academic excellence, clinical training, and healthcare services.
One of the major strengths of NGMC is its extensive clinical exposure. The college operates two teaching hospitals in Banke District—a large teaching hospital in Kohalpur and another hospital in Nepalgunj. Together, these hospitals provide students with practical training opportunities and exposure to a wide range of medical cases.
The college offers modern laboratories, well-equipped classrooms, libraries, research facilities, hostels, and advanced medical equipment to support quality education and patient care. The campus environment is designed to promote academic learning, research, and professional development among future healthcare professionals.
Nepalgunj Medical College is recognized by the relevant medical authorities in Nepal and is listed in international medical directories, making its graduates eligible to pursue licensing examinations and higher studies in various countries after fulfilling local requirements.
