About Nepal Medical College & Teaching Hospital (NMCTH)

Nepal Medical College & Teaching Hospital (NMCTH) is one of the leading private medical institutions in Nepal, located at Attarkhel, Jorpati, Gokarneshwar Municipality, Kathmandu. Established in 1996–1997 through the initiative of Nepalese medical professionals, the institution was founded with the vision of providing high-quality medical education, healthcare services, and research opportunities within Nepal. It is affiliated with Kathmandu University and is recognized by the Nepal Medical Council.

The college follows the motto “Education – Research – Service” and has built a strong reputation for producing competent healthcare professionals. Over the years, NMCTH has become a popular destination for both Nepali and international students, particularly from India, due to its academic standards, English-medium education, and extensive clinical exposure.

NMCTH offers a wide range of undergraduate and postgraduate programs including MBBS, BDS, B.Sc. Nursing, MD/MS, DM, and other health science courses. The institution emphasizes academic excellence, research-based learning, practical clinical training, and community healthcare services. Students are trained through modern teaching methods, advanced laboratories, skill labs, museums, digital learning resources, and experienced faculty members.

One of the major strengths of the institution is the Nepal Medical College Teaching Hospital, a tertiary-care teaching hospital with approximately 700 beds. The hospital is equipped with modern medical technology and provides services across numerous specialties including Medicine, Surgery, Pediatrics, Obstetrics & Gynecology, Orthopedics, Psychiatry, Dermatology, ENT, Ophthalmology, Dentistry, Radiology, Emergency Medicine, ICU, NICU, Neuro-ICU, HDU, and Hemodialysis units. The large patient inflow provides students with extensive hands-on clinical experience throughout their medical education.

The campus includes academic blocks, hospital facilities, separate hostels for male and female students, a central library, laboratories, research centers, and recreational facilities. The college promotes scientific research in biomedical, epidemiological, and sociocultural health sciences while encouraging students to participate in academic conferences, seminars, workshops, and community health programs.
