About College of Medical Sciences
College of Medical Sciences (CMS), Bharatpur, is one of the most reputed private medical colleges in Nepal. Established through an agreement between the International Society for Medical Education (ISME) and the Ministry of Education, Government of Nepal, the institution began its journey in 1993 and admitted its first MBBS batch in 1996. Located in Bharatpur, Chitwan, CMS is affiliated with Kathmandu University and recognized by the Nepal Medical Council along with several international medical bodies.
The college offers a wide range of programs including MBBS, BDS, B.Sc. Nursing, MD/MS, DM, M.Ch, and other allied health science courses. CMS follows a modern, student-centered curriculum that emphasizes problem-based learning, community-oriented medical education, clinical competence, and research activities. Students receive training from experienced faculty members through advanced laboratories, digital learning resources, and structured clinical exposure.
CMS Teaching Hospital is one of the major tertiary-care teaching hospitals in Nepal and serves as the primary clinical training center for students. The hospital provides comprehensive healthcare services across multiple specialties including medicine, surgery, pediatrics, gynecology, orthopedics, cardiology, neurology, nephrology, and intensive care. Modern diagnostic facilities, specialized departments, and a large patient flow provide students with extensive hands-on clinical experience.
The college campus is equipped with modern infrastructure including spacious lecture halls, advanced laboratories, a central library containing thousands of medical books and journals, research facilities, separate hostels for male and female students, sports facilities, and internet-enabled learning resources. CMS also provides access to international medical journals through HINARI and other digital platforms, supporting academic and research development.
Situated in the scenic city of Bharatpur, Chitwan, the institution offers a peaceful academic environment close to the famous Chitwan National Park. Its central location, strong academic reputation, modern hospital facilities, international recognition, and affordable medical education have made CMS one of the preferred destinations for MBBS studies among students from Nepal, India, and other SAARC countries.
