Kathmandu University School of Medical Sciences (KUSMS) is one of the most prestigious medical institutions in Nepal. Established in 1994 through a collaboration between Kathmandu University and Dhulikhel Hospital, KUSMS officially launched its own MBBS program in 2001. The institution is located in Dhulikhel, Kavrepalanchok District, and is widely recognized for its high academic standards, community-based medical education, and strong clinical training system.

KUSMS operates through two major campuses. The Basic Sciences Campus is situated at Chaukot, Panauti, while the clinical training and teaching hospital facilities are based at Dhulikhel Hospital. The institution provides modern lecture halls, Problem-Based Learning (PBL) classrooms, advanced laboratories, multimedia teaching facilities, libraries with internet access, and research-oriented learning environments.

The college offers a wide range of programs including MBBS, BDS, B.Sc. Nursing, Bachelor of Physiotherapy (BPT), Bachelor of Medical Imaging Technology (MIT), Bachelor of Science in Laboratory Medicine, MD/MS, MDS, DM, MCh, MPH, and several postgraduate and allied health science courses. The curriculum focuses on academic excellence, practical clinical skills, research, and community healthcare services.

Dhulikhel Hospital serves as the university teaching hospital and is one of Nepal’s most respected non-profit healthcare institutions. The hospital provides comprehensive healthcare services with approximately 400+ beds and receives a large patient inflow from different regions of Nepal. Students gain extensive hands-on clinical exposure in departments such as Medicine, Surgery, Pediatrics, Gynecology, Orthopedics, Cardiology, Neurology, Emergency Medicine, and Intensive Care.
